Celtic and Rangers end in 2-2 draw in exciting Glasgow Derby

Celtic fought hard to secure a point in the first game of 2023 as the Hoops drew 2-2 with Rangers in the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox.

An early goal from Daizen Maeda gave the Bhoys the perfect start, but two quick goals at the start of the second period from Rangers' Ryan Kent and James Tavernier turned the game in the hosts' favour. However, Kyogo Furuhashi's late strike for Celtic denied Rangers a Glasgow Derby victory and maintained the nine-point lead at the top of the Premiership table.

Despite not playing at their best, it could have been a different story for Celtic were it not for a number of questionable decisions from the officials. The Hoops were denied a stonewall penalty when Rangers' Goldson used his hands to deflect a shot, and the penalty given to Rangers was very, very soft when Sakala fell down after standing on Carl Starfelt’s foot.

Despite these setbacks, Celtic showed their determination and fought until the very end, securing a hard-earned point and proving that they are still the team to beat in Scotland.

We. Never. Stop.
