Who is behind A Grand Old Tee?

A Grand Old Tee is the work of Paul Traynor, a Celtic supporter and designer based in Glasgow. A season-ticket holder since the Hampden season in 1995, Paul founded the studio to bring together a lifelong passion for the club and a career in design. Every tee starts as a sketch in his notebook.

About our tees

Standard tees are made to order on a premium midweight unisex blank: single jersey, soft combed and ring-spun cotton, with a lightweight retail fit. Please allow 7 to 10 working days. All orders ship worldwide with 30-day returns.

Is this the official Celtic FC store?

No. A Grand Old Tee is an independent design studio, not affiliated with Celtic Football Club. The official club store is at store.celticfc.com. We make our own original designs and do not reproduce the official Celtic FC crest or logos.

What's the story behind the designs?

Every tee starts with a story from Celtic's history. Some are big moments: Cesar's Boots from the 1967 European Cup Final, Brian Dempsey's "the rebels have won" the night Fergus McCann saved the club in 1994, Henrik Larsson's chip against Rangers in 2000. Some are smaller details only Celtic supporters would notice: a Portuguese postage stamp from a fan's Lisbon postcard, the 5 escudo coin in everyday circulation that day, the green of an away strip from a famous title-winning Saturday. The detail is the point. Every design page on the site carries the full story.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, worldwide. UK delivery is typically 7-10 working days from order. International orders take longer depending on destination. Returns are accepted within 30 days. Full shipping and returns details are in the refund policy.

Can I suggest a design?

Yes. Email agrandoldtee@gmail.com or use the contact form with a moment from Celtic history you'd like to see on a tee. Paul reads every message.

What's the difference between the Stained Glass tee and the polo?

Both designs are inspired by the stained-glass window that once hung above the front door of Celtic Park. The tee is a unisex cotton t-shirt with the design embroidered on the chest. The polo is a more formal cotton polo with the same embroidered design, suitable for occasions where a tee feels too casual. Both wear the design small on the chest.

What does the "67" in 67 East Rose Street mean?

67 East Rose Street was the address in the Calton, Glasgow, where Brother Walfrid presided over the founding meeting of Celtic Football and Athletic Club on 6 November 1887. The building is long gone. The "67" on the tee is the street number, and reads as something else entirely to anyone who knows what Celtic became eighty years later in another European city.

How do I find the right size?

Every standard tee carries a unisex size chart in its product images. Standard unisex sizing, true to size. If you're between sizes, the chest measurement is the most reliable guide. The polo and Christmas jumper have their own measurements on their product pages.

How long until my order arrives?

Standard tees are made to order. UK delivery is typically 7-10 working days from order; international orders take longer depending on destination. A tracking link is included in every dispatch email.
