Four moments. Four eras. Four pairs of men.

1965/66, League Cup Final. Jock Stein and Billy McNeill, the start of a decade that would change Celtic. The cup they lifted that October was the first trophy of the Stein years.

1988, Scottish Cup Final. Billy McNeill, now the manager, with Roy Aitken. The centenary season ended with a double, and a club walking ten feet tall.

1995, Scottish Cup Final. Tommy Burns, six months after Fergus McCann had rescued the club, lifting the first trophy of the new era.

November 2004, Ibrox. Martin O'Neill on the touchline, putting his arm around his captain Neil Lennon as abuse poured down from three sides. A photograph that said more than any post-match interview.

Four magic moments. Forty years of Celtic, distilled into the bond between a manager and the man wearing the armband.
