Patrick "Patsy" Gallacher signed for Celtic in 1911 at the age of nineteen, weighing under nine stone. They called him the Mighty Atom.
Over fifteen seasons in the Hoops he scored almost two hundred goals from inside-forward, played in Scottish Cup-winning sides, and became, according to most who saw him, the most gifted footballer Celtic had ever had.
His most famous goal, in the 1925 Scottish Cup Final against Dundee, involved him beating four defenders, getting bundled to the ground in the penalty area, holding the ball between his ankles as he sat upended, and somersaulting himself, ball still wedged between his feet, into the net. The Mighty Atom, scoring a goal that has never been repeated.
